Brown, Terry

BROWN, Terry EarleMay 6, 1946 - May 16, 2011 Terry Earle Brown, beloved husband of Claudette (Monette), father to Lise (Geoff Urton) and grandfather to Max, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the age of 65 years. Terry was born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan on May 6, 1946. Terry remained in the Gravelbourg area until attending the University of Saskatchewan, where he received his degree in electrical engineering, and ultimately his professional engineer certification (1976). Terry married the love of his life, Claudette Monette on August 19, 1972 and together they relocated to Calgary. They welcomed their only child, Lise, in 1975. Terry's career spanned more than forty years in the oil and gas industry and he retired in December of 2010. Terry was a committed member of the community and volunteered with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society. Terry was, above all else, a family man and devoted every spare moment of his free time to his daughter Lise. His affection for his family was even more evident when he held his new grandson Max. Terry was quiet, reserved and fiercely intelligent - a voracious reader who had an endless reservoir of jokes. He will also be fondly remembered for his inexhaustible appetite for cookies, fudge and pots of coffee. Over the years, Terry could be found walking in Fish Creek Park with his dogs, watching sports - especially the Calgary Flames or his beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders - or enjoying a cup of coffee on the front step. Besides his loving wife Claudette, daughter and son-in-law, Lise and Geoff, and grandson Max, Terry is also survived by his mother Eileen (Caparn); sister Marjorie; brothers Larry (Tricia MacDonald) and their children Matthew, Shannon and Christopher and Keith (Rosemarie Geoffrion Brown) and their daughters Tonia, Melanie and Kimberley; and his youngest brother Glen.
